Well yesterday was great. It was the birthday of our nation. A nation that is right now still fighting a war that some may feel is unnecessary. I will not comment on what I feel as far as this war is concerned that is not what this blog I have started is all about. What I will say is that this war does have me thinking especially with so many still over there that we take things for granted. We take the fact that we can wake up and make decisions everyday without thinking about what will happen to us for those decisions except how it would effect what we eat what job we have or if our family will be better off which are all good things to think about when making a grand decision. Most of us don't think about what our government will think of us if we wear a short sleeve shirt or put our hair down or even Shock to pick up the Bible and read it!!!!! But all over the world there are places that you can not show your elbows or your hair and reading a Bible will get your fingers cut off or even worse death will come to you. When I think about this pride is in my heart that I had a husband, a father, an uncle and even a father in law and know a brother in law that is fighting or has fought to make this land that I live in free for me to be able to do the things that we do everyday without thinking. With all this freedom sacrifices have been made.
Sacrifices have been made in this great country but it started even before the first group of people got here. Jesus himself sacrificed for us before we even thought about America before we were even a glimmer in our parents eye and they were in their parents and so on and so forth. Jesus sacrificed himself for us to live in peace and freedom wherever we may live it didn't matter if we were in Afghanistan or Iraq getting killed for our religion or not we are free with him. When the first settlers landed in this new world they were leaving their country and sacrificed the lives and family that they left behind in order to live as they wanted without fear or giving in to what others wanted. Then the Revolutionary war, the war of 1812 sacrificed men, children and even women to be once and for all free of the persecution of England. Then the civil war so that truly all men; black or white shall be free. Then WWI and WWII was war to give freedom and to insure our freedom would not be taken by any political party. WWII also showed us that there were still monsters out there that did not believe that one certain group that should be free and we were there to show that America is free and that we will insure that those people deserved the freedom to believe as they did. Also that people should not die for there heritage or their religious beliefs. Then Korea happened which was the war against communism that sparked the Vietnam war as well which sacrificed many of our military men and women. Then in the Desert storm war we again were faced with a man that believed that he was Gods messenger and that those that believed in freedom should no longer exist and insisted on killing his own people that got in his way. 9-11 happened and effected us on American soil and we knew all to well that even thought we had freedom if someone wanted to bad enough and had help it could be taken away all to quickly. We now in a way have lost some freedom no longer can a airplane trip be easy we are inspected and all get a list of things that we can no longer take on a plane because a group wanted to show us that capitalism and our religion were not going to be taken lightly in the middle east and that people that believed in Jesus Christ as the son of God should no longer exist. ( Ya know Jesus Christ the one that sacrificed himself so that we would be free to worship him and to wash away our sins.) Then the same man that in Desert storm tried to hurt us and killed his own people decided that was not enough and started threatening Americans and started killing more of his people. If you look back in history Americans waited to long for the Jewish people in WWII and that was wrong we did not want to do that with these people that would be inhumane and we would of been no better off then the mad man we were all disgusted about. Do we still need to be in this war since the mad man is dead that is not for me to decide that is up to your personal beliefs. That is what is so great about this country we have the right to our opinion.
From the king of England that would have people beheaded if something in the paper was written bad about him to the Enquire know that says smut about everyone that is even slightly famous we see the freedom in this country. I truly understand that protesters are given a bad name in every country including sometimes this one but without protesters we would not be a country. It took protesting to get the Revolutionary war started, to get the civil war started, to free the slaves and make them free, to give women freedom, to insure that black Americans were not only free but had rights, to women the right to finally vote, to give Hispanics freedom in America, to give Japanese Americans freedom (ie.WWII period). There have been many protesters out there that truly believe in what they are doing such as Pro life, Pro choice, Against the wars, and for the wars. There is also protesters that no one really wants to discuss but we all have to realize that even with freedom in the worldly since we will have bad and good. I have the choice in this blog not to post those for it disgust me that some people use this freedom in this country to hurt others and to be small minded and belittle those that they do not understand.
Fourth of July is a wonderful time to remember all that this young nation has gone throught and to really realize that while we might not all agree on what goes on in this country we can agree that this country has survived by the sacrifice of so many in this nation. Thanks for anyone that reads this. This was an emotional blog post.
